Workforce

In an effort to address the workforce needs of area companies, Delaware County businesses and government agencies have formed a public private partnership called the Delaware County Career Alliance. Members of the Career Alliance include existing business and industry, Delaware County Economic Development, the Manchester and Edgewood Chambers of Commerce, Manpower, Iowa Workforce Development, Northeast Iowa Community College, Upper Iowa University, area School to Work coordinators, local council on government and our value-added agriculture coordinator.

For well over two years, the Alliance has been working to address the short and long-term employment and training needs of our local workforce. Through our efforts, we have made progress in providing our employers and citizens with timely information on the area labor force, worker training programs for companies, and marketing to former alumni asking them to come back home.
